Dr. Asanga D. Ampitiyawatta is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Export Agriculture, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. He has significant academic and administrative experience as a University Academic since 2002. He was the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka from 2011 to 2014 and the founder Dean of the Faculty of Technology, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka (2018-2022). Further, he has served as the Head, Department of Export Agriculture and Department of Biosystems Technology, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. Also, he was the coordinator for the establishment of Faculty of Technology, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. As a Senior Administrator, he has more than seven years of experience in all the governing bodies of a University including the Council, Senate, Finance Committee, Senior Management Committee, Faculty Boards, etc. Further he has extended his service as a member of Standing Committee on Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine and Technology Stream at the University Grants Commissions, as well as the member of Board of Management of Post Graduate Institute of Agriculture (PGIA), University of Peradeniya. He has served as the Deputy Project Director for three years (2018-2021) at the Project Implementation Unit of Science and Human Resource Development Project of Ministry of Education under the Asian Development Bank (ADB) funds for enhancing physical and human resources of Faculty of Technologies.
