The University of Colombo Institute for Agro-technology and Rural Sciences (UCIARS) offers the following short course for international students

“Sustainable Agro-Technologies in Sri Lanka: In Vitro Plant Propagation, Rice Water Management & the Cascade System”
The number of places reserved for this category of students is limited and at present it is up to 5.0 % of the total number of places available in the course of study. Selection of candidates with foreign qualifications is based on the following order of priority;
- Children of Sri Lankan diplomatic personnel who are/have been stationed in other countries.
- Children of foreign diplomatic personnel working in Sri Lanka.
- Applicants from SAARC countries who seek admission.
- Sri Lankan applicants in foreign countries not covered under (a) above.
- Other foreign applicants not covered under (b) or (c) above.
All selected candidates will be admitted on a fee-levying basis (refer to section 4) except for the candidates selected under Category (a) above.
The proposed intake in each course of study will be allocated to students who satisfy the criteria for admission described under section 2.

Any undergraduate students who are following agriculture related degree program in respective countries.
Calling of applications for the Bachelor of Agro-technology Honours (BAgroTecHons) will be published in the press, social media, and the UCIARS website annually. Following such notices, prescribed application forms should be completed online, from the UCIARS website and forwarded to the Senior Assistant Registrar (SAR) of the UCIARS with payment of appropriate fees mentioned in section 3.
